ABOUT OUR CHURCH

OPEN HEARTS, OPEN MINDS, OPEN DOORS

Our doors swing open both ways...

Jesus teaches a quality lesson about extending an invitation to all. He says, "Listen! I am standing at the door, knocking; if you hear my voice and open the door, I will come in to you and eat with you, and you with me." (Revelation 3:20 NRSV) This is what Grace is all about. Opening doors lead to opening our hearts and then to a more open mind about the diversity of God's world. We believe that everyone is a person of God's sacred worth. We open our doors to welcome all people in  his fellowship, worship, study and Christian discipleship.

We belive that God is calling all persons to seek his grace and thus, to open our minds to all of the new possibilities of a new life. In Romans 12:1-2 (NRSV) Paul apeals to us as he wrote to the church in Rome, "I appeal to you therefore, brothers and sisters, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual* worship. 2 Do not be conformed to this world,* but be transformed by the renewing of your minds, so that you may discern what is the will of God—what is good and acceptable and perfect."

We are about living the great commandment as found in Matthew 22:37-39 (NVRS)  Jesus taught, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind.” 38 This is the greatest and first commandment. 39 And a second is like it: “You shall love your neighbour as yourself.” 40On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.’"

We are the church just next door and our doors open both ways. We come in to worship, learn and grow. We go out to serve and share the good news of Jesus Christ. Don't be surprised when we come knocking on your door soon.
